Two volumes are allocated for the Age of the Myth in the Chronicle of Japan and the first part is closed with the description of the background of Sukunahiko-no-komi, son of Takamimusuhi-no-mikoto, who was to be one of significant deities in the following second part of this volume. From a viewpoint of the purpose of these history books, the first volume seems to be provided in order to explain the origin of the Japan and to prelude the process of the national integration, on which the throne of the Tennow was established by Jinnmu Tennow.
