Considering the character of the Oomiwa-no-kami, which was fortune spirit, it is interesting that the system of the ancient Japanese diarchy would have transformed then from horizontal co-governance with Oonamuch-no-mikoto and Sukunahiko-no-mikoto, both of whom were laymen as well to a vertical system based on the separation between religion and politics, Oonamuch-no-mikoto and Oomiwa-no-kami. Besides, this system is different from that of Amatarasu-oomi-kami and Susanow-no-mikoto at the point that the religious authority was not a female deity but a male deity.
