After exiling from Takamanohara, Susanou-no-mikoto had to go away to Izumo, where is inferred later Tumo-kuni. Or it would be Ne-no-kuni, where his deceased mother deity, Izanami-no-mikoto, would reign. According to the Kojiki, though Ne-no-kuni should have been the land of the dead, both of the Japanese history books, the Chronicle of Japan also, called it Izumo, strangely enough. Thus, the following story of the adventure of Susanou-no-mikoto has been particularly called the Izumo Myth.
