When Susanou-no-mikoto was ascending up to Takamanohara, all of mountains and rivers waved and roared violently. Hearing this uproar and being astonished by it, Amaterasu-oomikami said “my brother must come up here with an evil intention. I suppose that he surely would like to plunder my nation.” Making up her mind to defend Takamanohara, she armed herself as like a male soldier with quivers in which one thousands and five hundreds arrows had been equiped, and waited her brother’s arrival with yelling a war cry and stamping on the land heavily. Her courageous and heroic appearance is maybe far from her before image as a fair and tranquil sun goddess.
