In the sequence, Nigihayahi-no-mikoto decided to pledge allegiance to the Sumera-mikoto with his followers. The Sumera-mikoto treated him with great favor, because he well recognized that Nigihayahi-no-mikoto had descended from the Heaven as well and that he showed his loyalty to the Sumera-mikoto now. Nigihayahi-no-mikoto is said to be the ancestor of the Mononobe-tribe.
In addition to the above-mentioned reason, Nigihaya-hi-no-mikoto recognized that Nagasune-hiko was iniquitous person and lacked the power of understand for distinguishing deities from human-beings, even though he earnestly taught him that. Therefore, Nigihaya-hi-no-mikoto finally killed Nagasune-hiko.
The reason why Nigihaya-hi-no-mikoto ruined Nagasune-hiko was that he well recognized that the deities in the heaven had been deeply concerned over the descendant, Ninigi-no-mikoto, who had landed upon the earth as the grand-son of Amaterasu-oomikami. It seems that Ninigi-no-mikoto should be exceptional existence among the descendants from the deities in the heaven.
Ngasune-hiko, recognizing the proof proposed before, stiffened up in front of the Sumera-mikoto. Though Nagasune-hiko stood in awe of the descendant from deities, he could not abandon his intention of waging war against the force of the Sumera-mikoto. However, it was too late, because he had already made all necessary preparation for the war.
Here we remember that in the age of the mythology, Takamimusuhi-no-mikoto bestowed Ame-no-haha-ya to Ame-waka-hiko with Ame-no-kago-yumi, a sacred bow, when he appointed him the third vanguard to subdue Ashihara-no-naka-tu-kuni. Considering this description, Ame-no-haha-ya seems to be a symbol proving that they had come from Takama-no-hara or the Heaven.
At the request of the Sumera-mikoto, Nagune-hiko submitted arrows called Ame-no-haha-ya and a quiver for them as evidence for a real descendant from deities in the Heaven. It is said that Ame-no-haha-ya was maybe sacred arrows with supernatural power of a snake.
The messenger continued talking as words of Nagasune-hiko, “Since then, I have been working under Nigihayahi-no-mikoto as my lord. What on earth are there two descendants from deities in the heaven? Why are you trying to usurp my dominion? I am afraid that you shall be a pretender.”
