Oonamuchi-no-mikoto and the Mysterious Light

      The mysterious light told to Oonamuchi-no-mikoto, “Without me, you should not have subjugated this nation smoothly. Here as I am, you could achieve your nation building!” Listening to this voice, Oonamuch-no-mikoto asked him who he was. “I am a strange spirit who will bring you good fortune,” the light answered. Oonamuchi-no-mikoto, being convinced that he would be a fortune deity, asked him again where he would like to live.
