Amatarasu-oomikami, however, did not dare to appeal to arms immediately. Before shooting the first arrow at Susanou-no-mikoto, she tried to get at the truth whether he was innocent or not. In other words, she tolerantly gave him a chance to prove that he had ascended up to Takamanohara with integrity and never had intention to invade there at all. Perhaps, this would have been a sort of the Law of War in the ancient age of Japan.
