国境線を引くメリット

　集団と集団との間に境界線を引くメリットは、内部的な事柄にとどまりません。対外的な側面おいても、メリットはあるのです。

　第一に、境界線が双方によって維持されている限り、戦争が起きにくくなります（別の要因で発生する場合は否定できませんが・・・）。顔を合わすたびに闘いばかりを繰り広げていた時代よりも、平和の期間が長く続くことになります。

　第二に、この境界線を確定するに際して、双方が、この合意について何らかの証や文章を残すようになると、それは、法的な意味を持つことになります。つまり、国境線の法による保障が誕生することになるのです。

　国境線を引くことによって、随分と戦争を減らすことができたのね、とまあちゃまは、なるほどと思うのでした。
