US Airways機の不時着事故に思う

今回のUS　Airways機のエンジン二基が停止し、ハドソン河に緊急不時着したのにもかかわらず、乗客全員が無事救出された報道は全世界の人に感動を与えたと思う。まず、機長がハドソン河に不時着することを選び、適切な操縦により着水させ、乗客全員の安全を確認してから機を離れたこと。第二は弱者から助けたと云う乗客の態度は称賛に値するものである。こういう事件があると、JALの御巣鷹山事故と比較せざるを得ない。まず、JAL機はなぜ海に出ようとせ山岳方面に向かったのか？乗員の安全を考えれば海に向かうべきである。しかし、もし市街地に墜落した場合の被害の大きさを考えて身や乗客の命を犠牲にして山岳方面に向かったのかどうかは機長が死んだ今はその真実を知る由もない。やはりその判断は難しい問題を抱えている。最後に蛇足ではあるが、拙者はJAL機の隔壁の破損を予見し警告していた人を知っている。
