この度の仕分けでスーパー堤防事業の廃止が決まったようじゃ。今のペースで進めると４００年掛るというのがその理由らしい。しかし、治水のために堤防を高くしなければならないとしたら、それは何年かかっても造らなければならない。それが治水というものであろう。川というものは流れてくる土砂で川底はだんだん高くなって行く。川底が周りの土地より高くなっている川は至る所になる。スーパー堤防の事業が進捗しないのは，住民の利益が絡み、用地の整備が進まないのが原因である。本来、政治家の役目はこう言った堤防を，造るのを法などを整備して早く造れるようにすることにある。良く道路や橋などが出来ると、政治家は恰も自分が造ったように言い、自分の名前を出して威張っているではないか。
